The Charcoal Challenge

Moneysupermarket.com are setting bloggers the challenge of hosting a BBQ party for under £50. As I am the Queen of Frugal I was ready for the #thecharcoalchallenge.

Our guest list included myself, Rod, Evie and Isaac, Grandma Sue, Uncle Richard and Auntie Izzy and Auntie Greta.

I ordered sunshine and the weather gods delivered! It’s the first time in years that I can remember sitting out until 11pm without needing to put fleeces on and giving up in the end and going inside.

We put all our deckchairs, blankets and outside furniture out and made the most of the sun.

We already owned a barbeque so we just needed the charcoal. The meat came from the supermarket. I made some of my (now fairly famous) sourdough breadrolls and some raspberry muffins using homegrown (by Grandma) raspberries. Other extras were the salad and the marshmallows for toasting.
