I was sent a selection of Tommee Tippee items to try out and review. I have used Tommee Tippee things before when I had my daughter 4 years ago, but things have moved on and updated in this short time.

I am going to review the items one by one as I use them, starting with the microwave steam steriliser.

I had a microwave steriliser that someone gave me when I had Evie and when I looked for it this time, I realised I had lost one of the clips. So it was really great that I have received a new, updated version to use.

I haven’t needed a steriliser up to now as I have exclusively breastfed my son, but now he is six months old I have decided that it is time that I expressed some milk and gave it him mixed with his food or in a bottle.

I have got a Tommee Tippee breast-pump that I bought myself and used before with Tommee Tippee bottles so I have found it out to use. It was very useful that the bottles that the baby is fed with fits straight onto the breast pump which is really simple and easy to use, but more about that another time!

The steriliser is really simple to use. You can see from that picture that there is plenty of room inside to fit the breast-pump and a bottle and all the bits that go with them. If you are just putting bottles in you can fit in 3 or 4.

Full instructions are, of course, given with the product, but in a nutshell, you measure 200ml of water using a bottle into the steriliser, all the items you want to sterilise and, for my power of microwave, set it going on full power for 5 minutes. After a few minutes cooling time, you are good to use the items inside. If you don’t want to use them straight away, you can leave the steriliser, unopened for 24 hours.

I find that my kitchen is so full of stuff, that I didn’t really have room for an electric steriliser to stay out on the side all the time. With this compact microwave steriliser, you can leave it in the microwave to keep things tidied away or easily fit it in a cupboard when not in use.

I did find last time that I used a microwave steam steriliser that some things I had were not suitable for microwaving (I borrowed an electric breast pump from a childrens’ centre and the bottles melted in the microwave), but you can also use this steriliser for cold water sterilisation, and it comes with a weight to hold down items that would float in the water. Full instructions are also given for this too.

I have never used a microwave steriliser from another maker, so I can’t make any comparisons, but I have been pleased with the old steriliser that I was given by a friend and the new steriliser that I have been sent and reviewed here. It is sturdy, durable, yet compact and comes with clear and full instructions. I would recommend this to my friends.

I was sent these Tommee Tippee products by Tommee Tippee for free to review, but the words, pictures and opinions are all my own.
