Meal Planning Monday (28.01.13)

The meal planning last week went to plan! We have indeed used up food in the house, but on the downside, the cupboard is bear now, so I can have a trip to the supermarket this afternoon, once I’ve taken Evie to school.

Last week’s highlights were the Leftover Roast Pork Recipes and the sausage casserole.

And now to this week:

Monday – Roast chicken, then I’m going to use the leftovers and carcus to make chicken noodle soup for lunches

Tuesday – Pork chops, mash and chard (still searching for Chard recipe inspiration if you have any!)

Wednesday – Freezer dive (term coined my MamaOwl this week!) and I’ll probably make some tomato pasta sauce for Evie as it is one of the few ways I can get veg into her.

Thursday – Spicy Fried Rice (recipe to be blogged)

Friday – Turkey Meatloaf (really tasty and better than the photo in the link looks!) I must take new pics!

Saturday – Freezer dive

Sunday – Roast dinner

    Ohh I like the sound of the Turkey Meatloaf…and will be back to see the recipe for Spicy Fried Rice…Sounds interesting!

      The meatloaf is really tasty with the fried onion in it and Worcestershire sauce. And the bonus is its low fat.

    Spicy fried rice sounds very good, look forward to seeing the recipe. Have you looked at the Riverford website, they have quite a few chard recipes.

    Re Chard I love the stuff but sadly, due to no longer using a veg box, can rarely source it. I love it wilted in a tart with goats cheese. It is also gorgeous in stir fries in lieu of cabbage or simply wilted with fish cakes – you know those salmon ones we can all knock up with a tin of the pink stuff and yesterdays leftover mash!
